Dig In!

BoM

I want to give you a challenge. Ready?

I am here challenging you, each of you, to drive into the Book of Mormon. If you have never read the scriptures, start today. If you have read them once or a thousand times, now’s an excellent opportunity to read it again. You will receive more insight and inspiration than you did before.

The second part of this challenge is that while you read, to highlight all the references to Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice. You will be surprised at the numerous times this wonderful book talks about them.

The challenge beginnings now, as soon as you are finished reading this post. It ends on the first weekend of October.

I testify that if you will challenge yourself to read the Book of Mormon, you will be happier and will find more peace and joy in your life. Storms may rage but you will remain firm. Of this I testify, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

I Caught a Glimpse of the Universe

I caught a glimpse of the Universe.

He was the One who showed it to me.

From where I stood, I saw from eternity to eternity.

I caught a glimpse of the Universe

It only lasted a second.

I felt in the love I had for the woman who felt abandoned.

I caught a glimpse of the Universe.

It was only there a moment.

I heard it as the doctor told of stars and the Son’s movement.

I caught a glimpse of the Universe.

It happened rather quickly.

I spoke it as I sang aloud, me and all God’s Amy.

I caught a glimpse of the Universe.

I felt it in my heart.

I heard it every day we spent months and months apart.

I saw it in the people.

I spoke it to them too.

I had it work I did, the work He gave me to do.

I caught a glimpse of God’s Universe.

He send me here to find it.

He pointed down which path to look,

And with His love He signed it.

Free Yourself

Free Yourself

Too often we get tangled in the mess of life. And it happens so quickly and almost without notice.
Every choice we make will either bring us higher or pull us down lower. Sometimes, with our peers around us, it becomes difficult to know which choice will be for our good.
Often we make the wrong choice because it is the popular thing to do. Or perhaps we do these things because we are desperate and we need a quick fix, the easy cure. These bring us only momentary pleasure. Then when the fame is gone, those feelings of pleasure begin to fade and we find ourselves in a bind.
Ignoring the issue will only make the problem worse, but we are afraid to face the enviable slow healing process because it is painful and can even be heartbreaking to you or to others.
If we turn to the Savior, He will heal us and make us whole. He will free us of guilt and shame and lead us to what will ultimately bring us to true happiness.
Yes, it can and likely will be painful, but it is far better than feeling the fear, shame and guilt of breaking God’s commandments, and it will not last.
The Savior wants us to be happy. As we keep His commandments and repent when we do wrong, then we will be free to live life to the fullest and we will find true peace and happiness doing so.

The Gospel Will Lift Us

The Gospel Will Lift Us

Many think of the commandments given to men by God as restrictions. Rules that hinder our free will, but if we really look at them they do just the opposite.
Because I keep the commandments, I not addicted to harmful substances that destroy my health and shorten my life.
Because I keep the commandments, I am not in jail for stealing or murder. I can walk freely down the street, greeting police friendly and I am not afraid of them, but know they are there to protect me.
Because I keep the commandments, I have a good relationship with my parents and speak many things openly with them and trust their opinions and advice.
Because I keep the commandments, I am sexual pure and do not have to worry about STDs.
Because I keep the commandments, my friends know they can trust me and I have their respect.
Because I keep the commandments, I know that God is my loving Father in Heaven. He cares for me daily and loves me more than I imagine.
Because I keep the commandments, I am happy and know where I can turn for peace and comfort.
I love The Gospel of Jesus Christ! And I love His commandments!

Ask and you shall recieve

Ask and you shall recieve

God wants to bless us. He wants us to turn to him. But we must knee down and pray.
As we ask our Father in Heaven, having faith in Christ that He will answer, we will find peace and happiness in our lives that the world cannot offer or give. I love that I can ask Him anything and He will hear me.
Gods knows us personally and loves us without end. He is waiting to give us the answers, but first, we must seek them out. He may not give it to us immediately, but He will always give it. The answer may come in a way we didn’t except, that is why we must be constantly searching. As we pray, we will become closer to our Heavenly Father. And as we listen and wait patiently, we will become more like Him.

Remember the Meaning of Easter

I love Easter! And not because there’s chocolate. Though that is fun too.

I love the life of my Savior Jesus Christ and what he did for me and you so long ago. He loves us so much, and He gave his life so we could make ours better. There are so many things I have to be grateful to Him for. The list is too long to name, but I will say I am grateful for the chance to realize I have done wrong and to improve myself and make my life better than it ever could have been.

I hope that at this time of year your thoughts are turned to the Savior, because it is because of Him, that all things are possible.

Below is a link to a video about what I have been speaking about. It gave me chills the first time I saw it. Take a look, and see what there is to be grateful for #BecauseofHim.
